Meet the Governors

Governors

Governors 1
Parent Governor elections will be taking place shortly.

Barbara Nestor

Barbara loves being a school governor at King Edward's. She brings to the role her experience in education (teacher, librarian, and learner) as well as her multicultural background and work experience. Using her track record in local government and as volunteer chair of significant local charities, she takes responsibility for health and safety at King Edward's as well as being involved in staff recruitment, selection and performance management.

Jo Monahan

I am Jo Monahan.  I have been a Teaching Assistant for Seven years at King Edward Primary School.  I am passionate about working with children.  I believe every child at King Edwards deserves a quality education.

Phee Smith

I am Phee Smith a Community Governor.  I have had a long and happy career in teaching and now I am enjoying being a Governor.  I am originally from South Africa and I chose teaching as a career as I love children.

 Rob Tyler

I have been a Governor of King Edward School since 2012, elected by the local authority.  I live in the local area and my 2 children who attend the school so I have a real interest in the high standards, performance and well-being of the pupils, the staff and the school itself.

Debs Foster

My name is Debs Foster and I have two children.

I have been a teaching assistant for over 25 years and have always taken an interest in my children's education.

I feel that with my experience of working in various establishments I have a lot to give as a parent governor and will always do my best to work with the team at King Edwards.

Martin Tate

Our family all attended King Edward and I have been a governor here since 1987. I served on Mansfield District Council for 12 years and have served as a senior manager at secondary level. I am pleased to be able to support  the school where my formal education began.

Sean Holborn

I have been a community and now co-opted Governor at King Edwards for the past 6 years.  I live and work in the close local community.  I am married with two children who have both happily attended King Edwards Primary school.

In my role as a governor I am a critical friend of the school, willing to ask questions, open to ideas and find my role at the school a rewarding and positive experience.

I have travelled extensively in Europe.  I am an amateur gigging musician, golfer, enjoy dog walking and can best be described as an all-round “social, but old, geek” according to my kids!

Alan Barker

As a former pupil, and with two children currently attending King Edwards, how the school is educating our children is very important to me.  I want our children to have positive aspirations and to aim high in their future goals.

I work full-time as a Manager in distribution but you will still see me in the playground, so if you need to speak, I have always got the time to listen and I am happy to take any issues or questions to our regular meetings.

In what little spare time I have, I enjoy 5-a-side football, running and learning Judo with my family.

Artur Pawlowski

I joined King Edward Primary School in January 2016. I work as ICT technician to support teachers, other members of staff and pupils with all IT related matters. I like working with children. When I have the opportunity I like to stand in front of the class. You can see me during some lessons, TGI activities and on my Mathletics after school club. I also offer language support for Polish children and their parents when necessary. They might also see me in Polish Saturday School in Mansfield where I work as a teacher.
