A prime area of the EYFS Curriculum is Physical Development (PD). Physical development involves providing opportunities for children to be active and interactive; and to develop their coordination, control and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food. At King Edward, children are encouraged to be explorers and take risks in the indoor and outdoor environment. We have planned Forest schools and PE sessions to develop children's gross motor skills. We have a big emphasis on fine motor skills to prepare children for writing.
