Dragon Eyes - Pastels and Clay

Year 6 did a dragon project based on our topic about the book 'Tell Me A Dragon'. They were inspired by the artist of the book, Jackie Morris. Children started off by looking at her art work and her style. They used many skills with the pastels including blending, layering and smudging. Children looked at adding the effect of light to the eye to create realism. They also used different skills to create the texture of dragon scales. Children then turned their drawings into sculptures using clay. They used clay tools to create textures and patterns on the eye.
