We had another important task in School Council this week, as Mrs Bridges had asked us to give our ideas about homework across school. We have 2 types of homework in Y1, 3, 4 and 5 (Y2 and Y6 are a little different due to SATs revision books). These are a weekly reading homework task and a half-termly topic homework. Again, we impressed Miss Parsons with our mature and thoughtful answers, and even had a vote or two! Democracy in action!

This week in School Council, we had the important task of giving our feedback on last week's 'World Maths Day' theme day. For this day, we all came to school wearing a number and we spent the WHOLE DAY doing exciting maths activities. We even had the 'Arithmagic' theatre company come and deliver a fantastically fun performance in our hall, so our activities in class had a 'magic' link as a result of this! Some classes were even lucky enough to spend some extra time with the visiting performers when they took part in additional workshops too! Anyway, at KEPS this half-term, we have been learning all about the theme of 'responsibility' in our weekly assemblies, and so part of our responsibility as School Council members is to share our views and feedback with the teachers. This also helps us learn about democracy, and the importance of everyone having a say! Today, we really impressed Miss Parsons with our thoughtful, reflective ideas and honest approach and deserve a big well done for our constructive feedback, which we're sure will make World Maths Day even better next year!

The side roads and pavements around the school site are packed down with ice and very slippy. Despite our site staff's sterling efforts clearing paths yesterday, the wind has blown the snow and we have some deep snow drifts around the school.

Have a safe weekend and hopefully see you Monday.
