In English this half-term, we will be taking part in a range of writing tasks linked to our ‘Mexico and the Maya’ topic learning.
This will include: a non-fiction unit linking very closely to our Geography work on Latin America, with a particular emphasis on Mexico, including non-chronological reports in the style of a documentary ‘voice-over’ and persuasive travel brochures.
Later on in the term, we will also be writing our own narratives, possibly even heavily influenced by Maya myths!
In all of our writing, we will be taking a great deal of care to make our writing the very best that it can be, including incorporating the required Y6 elements, including: passive voice, dialogue and a wide range of punctuation, such as colons and semi-colons and brackets, dashes and commas for parenthesis.
