Summer Vikings
The Vikings
For our final topic in the summer term we are going to be looking at The Vikings. We will be exploring who the Vikings were, where they came from and why they decided to come and raid the British shores thousands of years ago. Our class text this term is going to be Viking Boy written by Tony Bradman, which we will be using for both Guided Reading and English. We will also be exploring the classic story of Beowulf and creating our own mythical creatures. In geography we will be looking at Scandinavia, the homelands of the Vikings, which European countries they are now and the key settlements that they created here in Britain, such as York/Jorvik.
